
Nile Entertainment has partnered with Action Xtreme and Aloha Releasing for the highly anticipated limited theatrical release of the UK-Nigeria action thriller, SON OF THE SOIL, starting March 6, 2026. Following its U.S. premiere and selection at the Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, the film will debut in theatres across key cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Indianapolis, with plans for additional major markets later on.
This theatrical launch marks a significant step in the film’s international expansion, allowing North American audiences to enjoy its dynamic storytelling on the big screen. The release strategy will emphasise metropolitan and diaspora markets, featuring community screenings and targeted promotions to drive positive word of mouth.
In tandem with its U.S. theatrical rollout, SON OF THE SOIL began streaming on Netflix across Africa on March 1, 2026, making the gripping film accessible to millions. This Netflix release marks a pivotal moment for the film, expanding its reach beyond theatres and festivals as it taps into the growing global interest in quality African-led narratives.
Directed by Chee Keong Cheung, SON OF THE SOIL centres on Zion Ladejo, a former Nigerian Special Ops paratrooper who, following his sister’s tragic death, becomes embroiled in a vicious struggle against organised crime. The film seamlessly blends intense action with emotional resonance, garnering acclaim for its authentic storytelling, cinematic ambition, and powerful performances.
The film features a standout performance by Razaaq Adoti, alongside a talented cast including Patience Ozokwo, Ireti Doyle, Taye Arimoro, Sunshine Rosman, Damilola Ogunsi, Philip Asaya, Emeka Golden, Sharon Rotimi, and introducing Ijelu Folajimi—an emerging talent from Nollywood. The production is a collaboration between Action Xtreme and Sovereign, in partnership with Lagos-based Boxonia Blueprint.
