Nile Entertainment has partnered with Action Xtreme and Aloha Releasing for the highly anticipated limited theatrical release of the UK-Nigeria action thriller, SON OF THE SOIL, starting March 6, 2026. Following its U.S. premiere and selection at the Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, the film will debut in theatres across key cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Indianapolis, with plans for additional major markets later on.

This theatrical launch marks a significant step in the film’s international expansion, allowing North American audiences to enjoy its dynamic storytelling on the big screen. The release strategy will emphasise metropolitan and diaspora markets, featuring community screenings and targeted promotions to drive positive word of mouth.

In tandem with its U.S. theatrical rollout, SON OF THE SOIL began streaming on Netflix across Africa on March 1, 2026, making the gripping film accessible to millions. This Netflix release marks a pivotal moment for the film, expanding its reach beyond theatres and festivals as it taps into the growing global interest in quality African-led narratives.

Directed by Chee Keong Cheung, SON OF THE SOIL centres on Zion Ladejo, a former Nigerian Special Ops paratrooper who, following his sister’s tragic death, becomes embroiled in a vicious struggle against organised crime. The film seamlessly blends intense action with emotional resonance, garnering acclaim for its authentic storytelling, cinematic ambition, and powerful performances.

The film features a standout performance by Razaaq Adoti, alongside a talented cast including Patience Ozokwo, Ireti Doyle, Taye Arimoro, Sunshine Rosman, Damilola Ogunsi, Philip Asaya, Emeka Golden, Sharon Rotimi, and introducing Ijelu Folajimi—an emerging talent from Nollywood. The production is a collaboration between Action Xtreme and Sovereign, in partnership with Lagos-based Boxonia Blueprint.

When a tormented Nigerian ex-commando learns of his sister’s death, he is thrust back into a realm of violence as he confronts a drug syndicate plaguing his community. His singular mission: redemption.

The film has already won several awards on the festival circuit, including accolades at the Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF), the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), and the Best of Nollywood Awards.

The distribution strategy for SON OF THE SOIL stems from a close collaboration between Action Xtreme and Nile Entertainment. This partnership combines Action Xtreme’s expertise in producing high-octane action films with Nile’s extensive market insights and pan-African distribution network, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering internationally appealing African cinema while maintaining creative integrity and long-term value in the origin territories.
