Cricket South Africa (CSA) is thrilled to announce a renewed collaboration with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), officially designating the national broadcaster as the Free-to-Air home of cricket for the upcoming 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons.

This exciting news arrives just in time for the much-anticipated Women’s T20 International Series featuring South Africa and Ireland.

During this season, the Proteas Women will host white-ball tours against Ireland from December 5 to December 19, 2025, and against Pakistan from February 10 to March 1, 2026. Each tour will consist of three T20 internationals and three one-day internationals, culminating in the prestigious Black Day ODI on March 1, 2026.

The Proteas Men will also be competing, taking on the West Indies in a three-match T20 series from January 27 to January 31, 2026, with the final game coinciding with Pink Day before Aiden Markram’s squad heads to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

In a landmark development, matches featuring the Proteas Women will now be broadcast live on SABC 2 and 3, marking a shift from previous seasons where they were only available via SABC+.

This significant change means that more South Africans than ever can rally behind one of the country’s most inspiring sports teams.

Live coverage will be accessible across SABC’s television, radio, and digital platforms, including www.sabcsport.com and SABC+, allowing fans to follow the action from anywhere.

This partnership aligns seamlessly with CSA’s strategic goals of promoting access, inclusion, and excellence in the sport.

It not only brings cricket directly to the fans but also enhances the visibility of women’s cricket while showcasing the exceptional talent of the national team.

Pholetsi Moseki, CEO of CSA, expressed his enthusiasm, “Inclusion is at the heart of our vision for South African cricket, and this partnership guarantees that every fan, regardless of their background, can experience the excitement of our Proteas Men and Women live and for free.

“We are eager to continue strengthening our ties with the SABC and look forward to welcoming millions of fans to celebrate our teams and their achievements on the world stage.”

Keletso Totlhanyo, Head of SABC Sport, added: “Sport has the incredible ability to unite and inspire our nation, and our mission as a public broadcaster is to make cricket accessible to all South Africans.

“Our renewed partnership with CSA ensures that fans across the country, from urban centres to rural areas, can enjoy high-quality cricket on free-to-air platforms.

“We remain dedicated to uplifting the women’s game and highlighting the remarkable talent of our national teams. We can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable cricket season to millions of viewers.”
