Woodcut International, the UK-based distribution division of Woodcut Media, has successfully secured numerous global sales for its true crime, factual, and historical programming. Major broadcasters across the US, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), and the MENA region have acquired diverse titles from their catalogue.
In the MENA region, Asharq Networks secured the rights to Titanic in Colour and The Manhattan Project in Colour, underscoring the strong regional demand for colourised history programming.
In the United States, A+E Networks’ Crime Central expanded its crime portfolio with How I Caught the Killer (Seasons 2–4) and The Killer Within. Noah TV’s Story Television licensed WW2: Women on the Frontline and Paranormal Captured (Seasons 1–2 plus a special). BBC Select picked up US rights to Woodcut’s latest colourised documentaries, Britain’s Railway Empire in Colour and The Manhattan Project in Colour. Meanwhile, Radio-Canada also acquired “The Manhattan Project in Colour” for its French-language service.
Across CEE and Europe, Dox TV acquired over 30 hours of content, including Mengele Unveiled (Picasso Film), The Suitcase Murders, and the latest seasons of How I Caught the Killer and The Killer in My Family. Hungary’s Spektrum TV has added several documentaries, including Mengele Unveiled, The Manhattan Project in Colour, Secret History of WW2, and Royals on the Frontline. Finland’s YLE also licensed The Manhattan Project in Colour, further broadening its European reach.
Koulla Anastasi, Managing Director of Woodcut International, commented on the sales surge: “We’re thrilled to have secured these deals ahead of MIPCOM, and it’s particularly gratifying to witness the strong international demand for our latest colourised documentaries. The Manhattan Project in Colour and Britain’s Railway Empire in Colour have captured buyers’ imagination with their visually stunning restorations, providing audiences with a fresh and unique look at history.”
