Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has entered into a collaborative production agreement with MBC Egypt to create a diverse range of premium programming designed specifically for Egyptian audiences.
The partnership was formalised in Cairo under the auspices of GEA Chairman Turki Alalshikh and includes the production of various variety and sports shows, as well as several drama series. This initiative aims to expand MBC Egypt’s programming offerings while reinforcing regional media collaborations.
The announcement coincided with Alalshikh’s visit to Egypt, where he has been exploring further strategic partnerships. During this trip, he also met with Egypt’s newly appointed Culture Minister, Jehan Zaki, at the ministry’s headquarters in Zamalek to discuss enhancing cooperation across cinema, theatre, music, and cultural projects.
The discussions focused on strengthening cultural ties, reflecting the enduring relationship between Riyadh and Cairo.
This new agreement highlights efforts to deepen creative and entertainment collaborations, positioning the partnership as a crucial part of a broader strategy to advance cultural exchange and media development throughout the region.
