Egypt: Shahid And e& Forge Strategic Alliance To Enrich Digital Entertainment Landscape

To further strengthen the digital entertainment market in Egypt, telecommunications provider e& Egypt has entered into an exclusive agreement with Shahid, MBC Group’s leading streaming service. The tie-up will allow e& Egypt customers to access the entire offering under Shahid’s premium content as part of their service package.

This partnership will transform the viewing of content in Egypt. Subscribers will enjoy access to a vast library of Arabic films, original content, international TV series, and live HD channels—all within Shahid’s extensive digital library. The content is accessible across e& Egypt’s packages, such as Emerald, VDSL, Hekaya, Demagh Tanya, Akwa Coins, and e& Cash.

The partnership, positioned as a strategic step, is part of both companies’ vision of delivering high-quality, affordable digital services. It also serves E& Egypt’s vision to move from traditional telecommunications to a full digital services provider. Through a partnership with Shahid, a market leader in Arabic content, E & Egypt aims to deliver enriched value to customers and further establish its position in the local market.

e& Egypt Consumer Vice President Samer Mourad anticipated the tie-up:
“This partnership allows us to directly take high-quality, pertinent content to our customers. It is part of our broader strategy to offer innovative digital solutions that mirror the lifestyle and passions of modern Egyptian viewers.”

He added that such strategic alliances are at the core of constructing the e & brand and meeting growing consumer demand for quality digital experiences.

Echoing the same sentiments, Shahid’s Director of Partnerships Scott Weeman said:
“This alliance is a strong opportunity to reach a larger Egyptian audience and blend Shahid’s programming into users’ daily digital lives. Egypt is a significant market for us, and this collaboration with e&’s services indicates we are well positioned for growth over the long term.”

Shahid, run by MBC Group, boasts a wide library of high-quality content, including produced-in-house series, cinema releases, sports broadcasting, kids’ programming, and over 40 free ad-supported streaming TV channels. Since its establishment in 2006, e& Egypt has been at the forefront of digital and telecoms innovation.

The two companies strive to establish a new benchmark for Egyptian digital entertainment: smart, inclusive, and attuned to modern viewers’ requirements.
