Disney+ And ITV Renew U.K. Content-Sharing Partnership With New Hulu Originals

Disney and ITV, a major player in the U.K. media landscape, have announced an extension of their content-sharing partnership, introducing two new titles to audiences.

The Hulu Originals “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox” and “The Stolen Girl” will air on ITV1 during primetime and will also be available on ITVX, ITV’s streaming platform. These titles will be showcased under the banner “Disney+ presents a Hulu Original.”

The psychological drama “The Stolen Girl” is set to premiere on February 25, 2025. Produced by Quay Street Productions in collaboration with Brightstar, the series follows a family’s anguish as their young daughter mysteriously disappears during a sleepover. It originally debuted on Disney+ in April 2025.

Later in the year, “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox” will follow. This series dramatises the highly publicised case of a young British exchange student found murdered in Italy, leading to the arrest of her American roommate.

This partnership, which began with a licensing agreement in 2023, evolved into a cross-promotional venture labelled “Taste of ITVX” and “Taste of Disney+,” allowing subscribers from both platforms to enjoy curated selections from the other service.

Recently, Disney has also entered a multi-year agreement with U.K. broadcaster Sky, which will bundle Disney+ with other services, including Netflix and HBO Max, providing a cost-effective option for Sky customers. Additionally, a Disney+ Cinema linear channel is set to launch on Sky’s electronic program guide.

Karl Holmes, general manager for Disney+ EMEA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This is an exciting next step in our partnership with ITV. We’re excited to bring two of our most captivating original series to ITV’s extensive primetime audience, allowing many more viewers to discover Hulu Originals on Disney+.”

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s media and entertainment managing director, added, “We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Disney. The inclusion of these premium original series in our primetime lineup is excellent news for ITV viewers. This extension reflects the strength of the content-sharing model we established last summer.”
