HBO Max, a service owned by Warner Bros Discovery, has successfully renewed its multi-year streaming agreement with film and television studio A24, known for hits like Euphoria.
This renewed deal ensures that HBO Max remains the exclusive streaming platform in the U.S. for A24 films following their theatrical releases. Over the coming years, viewers can look forward to a range of new A24 titles, including Marty Supreme starring Timothée Chalamet, The Drama featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and Enemies with Jeremy Allen White and Austin Butler. HBO Max will also provide access to A24’s extensive film library.
According to WBD, this renewal was prompted by the success of the previous agreement, which saw many of A24’s recent films enter the top 10 on HBO Max shortly after their release. They noted that nearly 70% of HBO Max subscribers who viewed an A24 movie went on to watch additional A24 titles, averaging 4.
Other anticipated releases included in this deal are The Moment, starring Charli XCX; Pillion, starring Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling; and The Death of Robin Hood, featuring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer.
This announcement comes just ahead of the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, set to debut on April 12 and produced in collaboration with A24.
“A24 has been an exceptional partner, delivering a wealth of talented creative voices and a dedicated audience to our platform,” said Royce Battleman, executive VP of global content acquisitions. “Their innovative storytelling aligns seamlessly with the unique programming available on HBO Max.”
