Google Cloud is enhancing its partnership with Digicloud Africa by appointing it a Security Operations Distribution Partner. This collaboration aims to provide African organisations access to advanced AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
Since 2018, Digicloud has served as Google Cloud’s distributor. This expanded role will enable resellers and partners to offer businesses robust enterprise-grade security products and services, supported by Google’s extensive global expertise and localised insights into the African market.
This initiative follows a notable surge in cybercrime throughout the region. INTERPOL’s 2025 Africa Cyber Threat Assessment Report indicates that 90% of African countries acknowledge a pressing need for substantial improvement in their law enforcement and prosecution capabilities, reflecting the severity and impact of the cyber threats they encounter.
The Google Cloud Security Operations platform is designed to help security professionals enhance their security operations centres beyond mere alert monitoring and response. It equips enterprises with integrated capabilities, frontline threat intelligence, and AI-infused security functionalities essential for identifying and safeguarding against malicious actors.
Despite its unique and diverse nature, Google emphasised that Africa’s cybersecurity threats are part of a global pattern. Consequently, the company is committed to developing strategies that assist organisations in recognising and defending against these threats.
“Digicloud Africa’s dedication and proven success with Google Cloud in Africa over the past seven years make them the ideal partner to help us deliver our security products to customers across the continent,” stated Wunan Li, the global lead for Google Cloud Security Ecosystem and Business Development.
Gregory MacLennan, CEO and co-founder of Digicloud Africa, pointed out that working with a reseller via Digicloud enables businesses to receive necessary support for effectively deploying and managing these solutions.
“By making these products accessible to cybersecurity-focused partners, we are extending Google Cloud’s vast expertise and comprehensive range of solutions to a greater number of enterprises across the continent,” he noted.
He remarked, “In today’s landscape, safeguarding your business from cybercrime requires partnering with a brand that remains at the forefront of the latest trends and continually evolves its defence strategies. Google Cloud’s significant investments and acquisitions in this field in recent years reflect its commitment to staying ahead and ensuring the security of its offerings.”
