Widespread demonstrations led by young people continue to grip Madagascar, as demands mount for President Andry Rajoelina’s resignation following a violent government crackdown that has reportedly left at least 22 people dead.
The video footage shows large crowds of mostly Gen Z protesters marching through the streets, chanting slogans and waving placards reading “Rajoelina, leave!” Security forces can be seen monitoring the rallies closely as tensions remain high.
In the video, demonstrators voice their anger and frustration declaring that the President Of Madagascar step down.The youth-driven protests have swelled in recent days, fuelled by calls for deeper economic and social reforms and a rejection of what participants describe as government corruption and inaction.
The unrest follows deadly clashes between protesters and security forces, which, according to United Nations reports, resulted in at least 22 deaths.
The situation continues to evolve as Madagascar faces one of its most significant waves of civil unrest in recent years.
