Uganda: MTN Launches Ads To Revolutionise Digital Advertising Across Africa

MTN Uganda has introduced MTN Ads, a revolutionary digital advertising platform designed to help businesses reach over 22 million MTN subscribers nationwide. This innovative platform enables companies of all sizes to create targeted advertising campaigns using demographic, behavioural, and location-based data, ensuring their messages reach the right audiences efficiently.

After a successful year of testing, MTN Ads is now fully operational. During the launch event at the Annual Marketers Fireplace, held at Hotel Africana in Kampala, Susan Kayemba, the Senior Manager for Digital Services at MTN Uganda, emphasised the significance of this platform in transforming digital advertising in the country. “Businesses now have a direct and powerful channel to engage their customers in ways that are personal, measurable, and effective,” Kayemba stated. She added that MTN Ads serves as a vital link between brands and their target audiences.

The platform’s capabilities allow businesses to customise their advertisements based on specific audience insights. For instance, restaurants can promote special offers to nearby users, retail brands can attract fashion enthusiasts, and financial institutions can reach potential clients based on their spending habits and device usage. This level of targeted advertising enhances the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

Marketers, media buyers, and business owners who attended the launch praised MTN Ads for its user-friendly interface, affordability, and capacity to deliver measurable results. Furthermore, the platform offers additional features, including a complimentary business directory listing, a zero-rated branded page on the MTN website, and guaranteed audience reach based on the selected advertising package. Providing transparent, real-time analytics enables businesses to track campaign performance and make data-driven marketing decisions.

MTN Uganda positions MTN Ads as a tool that empowers businesses to optimise their messaging and improve returns on investment while supporting the company’s Ambition 2025 strategy, which aims to create inclusive digital platforms that contribute to Uganda’s economic development.

For consumers, MTN Ads enhances the mobile experience by providing relevant, timely, and non-intrusive offers and promotions. Kayemba highlighted that through collaboration with MTN, businesses are not just reaching customers; they’re fostering value, building relationships, and integrating into daily life.

MTN Uganda encourages businesses—from local startups to multinational corporations—to explore the MTN Ads platform, harness its features, and thrive in Uganda’s growing digital marketplace.
