Es’hailSat, Qatar’s satellite communications provider, announced on Monday that it has established a strategic partnership with Telesat, a prominent global satellite operator based in Canada. This collaboration focuses on the future delivery of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity services within Qatar and key international markets.

This partnership illustrates Es’hailSat’s dedication to diversifying and enhancing its satellite communications offerings, ensuring that customers receive high-performance, reliable, and scalable connectivity solutions. Together, Es’hailSat and Telesat plan to explore joint opportunities across various sectors, supporting initiatives for government services, enterprise transformation, and mobility applications.

Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, President and CEO of Es’hailSat, commented on the announcement, stating, “Es’hailSat is committed to advancing Qatar’s status as a regional frontrunner in satellite communications. Our strategic collaboration with Telesat aligns with our goal to provide innovative, high-performance connectivity solutions while broadening our international partnerships. We are eager to work together to evaluate and showcase next-generation LEO services that will enhance our existing satellite and teleport infrastructure.”

Telesat’s LEO network, currently under development, is intended to offer high-throughput, low-latency connectivity across a wide array of markets. This strategic partnership will enable the two companies to engage in service validation activities, market development initiatives, and local infrastructure integration in Qatar to facilitate future service delivery.

Dan Goldberg, President and CEO of Telesat, expressed, “We are honoured that Es’hailSat has chosen the advanced Telesat Lightspeed network to enhance and expand their connectivity offerings. Es’hailSat is a leading regional operator, and we look forward to our ongoing collaboration in the rapidly expanding market for high-throughput, secure, and resilient broadband connectivity.”

This agreement reinforces Es’hailSat’s commitment to developing Qatar’s satellite, space, and telecommunications industry, while investing in global partnerships and strengthening national capabilities to ensure long-term resilience across various communications technologies. (QNA)
