Sony Pictures And BeIN Media Group In New Multi-Year Agreement For MENA

In a significant development for television and film enthusiasts across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, beIN Media Group has renewed its partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), securing exclusive rights to a rich catalogue of films and television series over several years to come.

Headquartered in Doha, beIN has struck a fresh agreement with the Hollywood studio to ensure the continuation of their content collaboration. The deal covers the first and second pay-TV windows for Sony’s upcoming cinema releases, which will air on beIN’s entertainment television channels and digital services—including beIN On Demand, TOD, and beIN Connect—in Arabic and English across the MENA region. In Turkey, viewers will access Sony content in both English and Turkish via Digiturk’s suite of channels.

Among the upcoming film titles expected to debut under the renewed deal are a host of eagerly anticipated releases, including the sequel to “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” the zombie thriller “28 Years Later,” the video game-inspired “Until Dawn,” and “Karate Kid: Legends,” a new chapter in the beloved martial arts franchise. More recent releases include “Venom: The Last Dance,” “Kraven the Hunter,” “Saturday Night” (a biopic chronicling the early days of Saturday Night Live), and the Academy Award-winning “I’m Still Here.” The family adventure “Paddington in Peru” is also on the cards for beIN audiences.

The television side of the agreement promises a wide selection of fan-favourites. This includes all eight seasons of the historical time-travel series Outlander, seven seasons of the medical drama The Good Doctor, the high-octane video game adaptation Twisted Metal, and popular anime titles from Crunchyroll such as Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia (Seasons 1 and 2).

Commenting on the renewed partnership, Esra Özaral Altop, Chief Entertainment Content Officer at beIN Media Group, said:

“We’re delighted to deepen our longstanding collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment – a true force in global storytelling. This renewed arrangement underscores our commitment to delivering first-rate entertainment to our audiences across MENA and Türkiye while bolstering our growing content portfolio.”

Mark Young, Executive Vice President of Distribution and Networks for EMEA at Sony Pictures Television, remarked:

“Our mission at Sony Pictures is simple – to share compelling stories with audiences everywhere. We’re thrilled to continue this journey with beIN, whose platforms provide a fantastic home for our titles across MENA and Türkiye.”

This latest pact builds on the foundations of the original deal signed in 2021 and further consolidates beIN’s reputation as a premier entertainment provider throughout the region. Details of the financial arrangements remain confidential.
