Showmax is set to showcase its latest Nigerian Original drama, ‘Princess on a Hill’, at the 13th edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

‘Princess on a Hil’ is a limited series co-created by Abiola Sobo and Tolu Ajayi. It follows the journey of Zara (played by Onyinye Odokoro), a young executive thrust into the fast-paced world of corporate competition after winning a reality show. Here, she faces off against the formidable CEO, Moyosore Lawson (portrayed by Bimbo Manuel). Zara finds herself navigating high-stakes business’s intricate and competitive landscape, where power dynamics and intense rivalry are everyday realities.

This gripping series captures the intricacies of ambition and power, reflecting Showmax’s dedication to authentically portraying African narratives.

This year’s festival will also feature a special session presented by MultiChoice, the parent company of Showmax, titled “Crafting Local Content for Global Success.” This session will emphasize the significance of local storytelling within the global entertainment sphere and explore effective strategies for creating TV content that appeals to diverse audiences worldwide. It will be held on the morning of Thursday, November 7, and will be led by prominent figures from the industry.

MultiChoice and Showmax are passionate supporters of AFRIFF’s mission, committed to elevating African filmmakers and providing a global stage for their stories.
