Stephen Beynon, the CEO of OneWeb, has announced his resignation, marking a significant development just under a year after the company’s merger with France’s Eutelsat.
This move comes amid a transition period for OneWeb, founded in 2012 by Greg Wyler with the ambitious goal of providing global internet coverage via low earth orbit satellites.
The company’s journey has been marked by triumphs and challenges, with 2020 proving to be a particularly tumultuous year. OneWeb faced major financial difficulties and ultimately filed for bankruptcy after losing support from its major investor, SoftBank.
