With the rise of digital platforms, shifts in consumer behaviour, and technological advancements, advertisers and broadcasters must adapt to new realities and opportunities. The forthcoming 8th Annual Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – Africa 2024, scheduled for 8-10 October 2024 in the city of Swakopmund, Namibia, is not just another event. It is a crucial platform that will shape the future of television advertising in this dynamic environment, and everyone in the industry needs to be part of this exploration.

Co-convened by the Southern Africa Broadcasting Association (SABA) and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), the industry convention, hosted by the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation and co-located with the SABA’s 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM), is a dynamic platform for showcasing the latest broadcast and digital media technologies innovations with Africa’s industry professionals and senior executives.

Speaking about the upcoming Convention, Mr Stanely Similo, DG of Namibia Broadcasting Corporation and President of SABA, said, “Exciting changes and opportunities mark the future of advertising on television. As we gather at the 8th Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – Africa 2024 in Swakopmund, Namibia, it is clear that adaptation and innovation are essential for success”.

“By embracing data-driven strategies, investing in technology, fostering collaboration, prioritising consumer privacy, and experimenting with new formats, the industry can navigate the evolving landscape and unlock the full potential of television advertising. The journey ahead promises to be dynamic, challenging, and ultimately rewarding for those who are prepared to seize the opportunities presented by the future of television advertising.”

The convention, with the theme Broadcasting and Content Publishing In The AI-Infused Digital Ecosystem and featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, will provide a rich and diverse learning experience for all participants and a space for discussing the latest trends, technologies, and challenges facing the industry, ensuring that we all move forward together.

Interested industry executives and professionals are invited to visit the event website here to learn more.
