Tata Communications, a global leader in telecommunications, has announced a five-year international host broadcasting services agreement with World Athletics, commencing in 2025. As the official host broadcaster, they will provide comprehensive international broadcasting services to cover the Series of events, including the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.

This strategic collaboration aims to enhance audience engagement in the sport. Starting in 2025, the Telecoms company will become a key strategic supplier for World Athletics, beginning with major events such as the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China in March, the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China in May, the World Athletics Road Running Championships in San Diego, California in September, and the flagship World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan from September 13-21, 2025.

The World Athletics Championships is an upscale event that attracts a multinational viewing audience of over a billion people. The company will deliver premium, world-class live content to broadcasters across continents, guaranteeing the action reaches fans globally. As the host broadcaster, they will provide reliable support to meet the needs of the sport’s action-packed international calendar. World Athletics is dedicated to increasing the sport’s space globally, a vision shared by Tata Communications that concentrates on helping initiatives thrive within India.

Global Head of Media and Entertainment Business Dhaval Ponda, also Vice President of Tata Communications, said: “It is an exciting time of new content and changing viewer demands. Tata Communications is positioned as an international connectivity provider to help World Athletics meet its purpose of bringing athletics and inspirational stories to fans globally. We offer the global footprint and scalable, resilient solutions necessary to carry these stories from arenas straight to viewers, whether from the UK, Tokyo, USA, or beyond. As we bring the energy of global athleticism to screens, I’m eager to see those stories inspire the next generation of Indian sporting excellence.” This alliance marks an important phase in the worldwide promotion and technological improvement of athletics, promising an enhanced viewing experience for fans worldwide.
