Airtel Africa announced that they have boosted data capacity and coverage with an extensive 5,600 km fibre network expansion.

Airtel Africa plc has made significant strides in enhancing its network capabilities, as revealed in its financial results for the June 30, 2024 quarter. Central to these efforts is the extensive rollout of over 5,600 kilometres of fibre, a move that underscores the company’s commitment to improving customer experience through robust infrastructure development.

The fibre rollout is part of Airtel Africa’s broader strategy to increase data capacity and expand network coverage. With the addition of nearly 3,000 new sites, the company’s data capacity has surged by 33%, ensuring that more customers can enjoy faster, more reliable internet services.

Expanding fibre infrastructure is crucial for meeting the escalating demand for high-speed data across Airtel Africa’s markets. By laying extensive fibre networks, the company is enhancing its current service offerings and future-proofing its network to accommodate upcoming technological advancements and increasing data consumption.
