LIV Golf, an innovative global league that fuses high-level competition with entertainment, has announced a renewed partnership with SuperSport, Africa’s leading sports broadcaster and part of the Canal+ Group. This collaboration will ensure comprehensive live coverage of the 2026 LIV Golf League season, featuring 14 events across 10 countries and 5 continents, including destinations such as Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

This agreement follows SuperSport’s successful airing of the docuseries Greens & Gold, which showcased the Southern Guards GC and provided fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s culture and competitive journey in the LIV Golf League.

One of the highlights for fans will be the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa event, set for March 19-22, 2026, at The Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg. This event has already sold rapidly, reflecting strong enthusiasm from fans and marking a significant moment for LIV Golf’s entry into the region.

The Southern Guards team, featuring major champion Louis Oosthuizen, multiple event winner Branden Grace, Chicago 2025 Champion Dean Burmester, and Open Champion Charl Schwartzel, embodies the passion and national pride of South African golf.

Rendani Ramovha, CANAL+ Director of Sport and Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasising SuperSport’s commitment to bringing world-class golf to African viewers. “This agreement not only highlights our broadcasting capabilities but also underscores the importance of South African golf. Our goal is to leverage Canal+ Group’s resources to elevate the profile of this event globally.”

Örjan Olsson, LIV Golf’s Senior Vice President of International Media Rights, noted the strategic significance of Africa for LIV Golf’s growth. “SuperSport’s scale and commitment to high-quality sports storytelling make it the perfect partner. The 2026 season is a pivotal moment for LIV Golf in Africa, and we’re confident in SuperSport’s ability to deliver outstanding coverage.”

The broadcasting agreement ensures that fans across Sub-Saharan Africa can access top-tier competition featuring elite players like Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, Phil Mickelson, and Dustin Johnson.

LIV Golf’s format features four rounds and 72 holes at iconic courses, initiated by a shotgun start. This unique approach enhances the viewing experience with more live action and dynamic storytelling, all within a compact four- to five-hour timeframe.
