Egypt: Co-Production Salon Launches Project Salon At Cairo International Film Festival

During the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), Co-Production Salon, the MENA region’s independent B2B platform, unveiled Project Salon. The event took place on the Cairo Film Market stage at the Sofitel Hotel on the Nile. It was attended by renowned Egyptian actor and CIFF President Hussein Fahmy, underscoring the initiative’s significance in promoting Arab storytelling on a global scale.

Project Salon aims to simplify and professionalise the co-production process by allowing verified members to upload comprehensive project packages. These packages can include pitch materials, production timelines, and funding milestones. Additionally, users can specify the kind of partners they are looking for, such as co-producers, distributors, equity investors, or opportunities for brand integration, fostering a transparent collaborative environment.

To ensure the integrity of projects and instil confidence in potential investors, submissions must adhere to two key criteria: securing a minimum of 10% confirmed financing and demonstrating a successful track record with at least one commercially released film or series from the submitting company that is available on any platform, TV channel, or in cinemas. Projects such as short films, social media content, YouTube releases, and promotional materials are not eligible for submission.

In addition to facilitating project hosting, the platform offers real-time analytics that allow producers to track engagement from potential partners. Premium users benefit from deeper insights into the sources of interest, enabling them to refine their financing strategies and enhance the visibility of projects ready for investment.

By curating credible and commercially viable submissions, Co-Production Salon continues to strengthen collaboration between Arab and international markets, connecting producers, studios, financiers, and global media partners.

Heba Korayem, Founder of Co-Production Salon, commented on the initiative, saying, “We aim to transform creative aspirations into concrete opportunities. Launching Project Salon on the Cairo Film Market stage, in the presence of Festival President Hussein Fahmy, represents a pivotal moment in establishing a structured and trustworthy co-production ecosystem for Arabic content.”
