The Broadcast & Digital Media Convention – East Africa, hosted by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and co‑convened by Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), brought together media leaders, policymakers, technologists, and innovators to explore the future of broadcasting and digital media in the region.

Held as a key regional gathering, the convention created space for constructive dialogue around digital migration, content localisation, media regulation, infrastructure development, and the integration of emerging technologies across broadcasting and digital platforms in East Africa.

Now, the full suite of knowledge, insights, and resources from the convention—including keynote presentations, thought-leadership sessions, expert panels, and in-depth technical exchanges—is available for public access.

From strategic discussions on the evolution of public service broadcasting, to practical guidance on transitioning to digital-first operations, the convention delivered timely, actionable content now compiled into a comprehensive, on-demand knowledge hub. These materials—available as videos, audios, and presentation slides—are designed to support continued learning, collaboration, and industry advancement.

Some of the items included in this package are:

  • The Challenges of Local Content Uptake in the Current Pay Television Market in East Africa [Presentation]
  • Broadcast with Apps on Servers: What Happens in Vegas, Comes to Kampala [Presentation]
  • Engage Viewers Across Borders & Cultures: How to Stand Out [Presentation]
  • How to Reduce the Devastating Impact of Piracy on the Creative Industry of Kenya [Presentation]
