The convener of the upcoming Broadcasters Convention—East Africa 2025 has confirmed that one of the event’s focused questions will be: What is the future of advertising on television in Africa?

According to the chief co-convener, Mr Benjamin Pius, also the CEO and Publisher of this platform, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), “Television advertising has always been the cornerstone of Africa’s media economy, but it must evolve to stay relevant. At the forthcoming  industry  convention,  executives and professionals  will focus on actionable solutions that empower broadcasters and advertisers to thrive in the digital age.”

From May 27th to 28th at the Four Points By Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, Uganda, senior-level broadcasters, advertisers, regulators, technology providers, and all other media stakeholders from across the region and beyond will have a platform to review current realities, emerging trends, and practical solutions shaping the future of television advertising.

Big issues will revolve around monetisation, programmatic advertising, data analytics, and competition from digital-first platforms like YouTube.

Hosted by the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and co-convened with the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), participants can look forward to keynote addresses, thought-provoking panels, and practical workshops led by top industry experts, media buyers, advertisers, and technology providers.

Key industry majors supporting this gathering include SES, Sputnik, the National Broadcasting Association of Uganda, Babeleye, France24, Lawo, and more.
