BMA Webinar: Cloud And IP Workflow Security – Strategic And Operational Modalities In Age Of AI

August 13, 2026

As broadcasters increasingly move production, playout and distribution workflows into the cloud and adopt IP-based infrastructure, cybersecurity is becoming a critical operational priority. The shift toward remote production, multi-cloud environments and interconnected IP networks is creating new opportunities for agility and scale, but it is also expanding the potential attack surface for cyber threats.

These issues will take centre stage at the upcoming Securing the Signal: Cybersecurity Threats and Defence Strategies for Broadcasters webinar, taking place on Tuesday, 08 September 2026.

A key focus of the webinar will be Cloud & IP Workflow Security, examining practical strategies for protecting remote production environments, securing sensitive data across multi-cloud infrastructures and hardening IP networks against intrusion.

As broadcasters increasingly rely on distributed production teams and cloud-based tools, remote access has become an essential part of modern media operations. However, poorly secured endpoints, unauthorised access, vulnerable connected systems and inadequate identity controls can expose production environments to significant risks.

The session will explore best practices for securing remote workflows while maintaining the flexibility required for modern broadcasting. Discussions will also examine how broadcasters can strengthen access controls, protect production assets and minimise vulnerabilities across increasingly complex technology ecosystems.

Multi-cloud environments will also be a key area of discussion. With broadcasters using combinations of public cloud, private cloud and on-premises infrastructure, maintaining consistent security policies and visibility across platforms can be challenging. Protecting content, operational data and credentials across these environments will require stronger governance, monitoring and security-by-design approaches.

The webinar will also address the growing importance of IP network security. As broadcast infrastructures transition from traditional dedicated systems to highly connected IP environments, network vulnerabilities can potentially affect critical production and transmission operations. Broadcasters will need to adopt layered security strategies capable of detecting, preventing and responding to intrusion without compromising workflow performance.

“Cybersecurity can no longer be treated as an IT issue sitting separately from broadcasting operations,” said Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa. “As production environments become more connected, remote and cloud-based, protecting the signal also means protecting the infrastructure, data and workflows behind it. Broadcasters need practical security strategies that are built into their technology and operational frameworks from the outset.”

The webinar will bring together broadcasting, media technology and cybersecurity professionals to examine emerging threats and practical defence strategies relevant to today’s broadcast environment. The discussion will provide broadcasters with insights into strengthening their cyber resilience while continuing their transition towards cloud, IP and remote production.

Securing the Signal: Cybersecurity Threats and Defence Strategies for Broadcasters takes place on Tuesday, 08 September 2026.
