Nollywood’s ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ Set For Global Theatrical Release Across 30 Countries

According to industry reports, Nollywood’s ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ has been acquired for theatrical distribution across 6 continents.

While FilmOne Entertainment retains its rights to distribute the movie locally, Nile Media has acquired the rights to distribute the film internationally.

The media distribution and production company announced the cinema dates for the film in an official Instagram post.

“Nile Media Entertainment proudly announces international theatrical distribution for @funkejenifaakindele’s Everybody Loves Jenifa, the first Nigerian film to be released in 30 countries across 6 continents,” the post said.

There is an exclusive UK Premiere at Odeon Cinemas, Greenwich, on December 20, 2024. Other countries include Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium, and Canada.

Film executive Moses Babatope launched Nile Media after his exit from Filmhouse, where he served as managing director of FilmOne Entertainment, a subsidiary of FilmHouse Group, which he co-founded with Kene Okwusa in 2012.

The company has collaborated and unveiled several ventures in less than a year since its establishment.

In August, it acquired the distribution rights for Omoni Oboli’s Wives on Strike 3 and secured the film’s international cinema release. This was followed by the introduction of a voucher system that will enable cinema lovers to pre-order tickets before showtime.

In October, Nile secured royal endorsement and partnered with Ooni of Ife to manage Ojaja Cinemas, which is set to launch 1,000 screens across Nigeria.
