TelOne Zimbabwe, a state-owned telecoms firm, has announced its formal status as a Starlink reseller.
The development came just a week after Zimbabwe’s telecom regulator approved Starlink agents, dealers, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) clarified that this criteria applies to all current and prospective ISPs and network operators.
POTRAZ issued Starlink Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd two licenses earlier this month: a telecommunications license for network services and a national Internet Services Provider licence.
This license stack authorises Starlink to provide Internet services throughout Zimbabwe using its Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network.
TelOne announced it has been approved. This move will allow the telco to extend its offerings and provide modern and effective connectivity solutions.
The company said, “The Starlink satellite internet solution is designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet access, including to the most remote parts of the country.”
TelOne has joined Paratus, Aura, Frampol, and Dandemutande as Starlink resellers in Zimbabwe.
