Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) has announced SPUTNIK as a partner for the Broadcasters Convention – Southern Africa 2026, scheduled to take place from 22–25 October 2026 at the Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles.

The convention, now in its 10th edition, will bring together broadcasting executives, media organisations, technology providers and industry stakeholders to discuss the strategic priorities shaping the future of broadcasting in Southern Africa and across the continent.

Convened by BMA in collaboration with the Southern African Broadcasting Association (SABA) and hosted by the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), the event will provide a platform for industry dialogue, professional networking and the exchange of ideas on the opportunities emerging from technological innovation and changing media consumption patterns.

SPUTNIK’s partnership comes as broadcasters navigate significant industry shifts, including digital transformation, evolving distribution models, and the growing need for collaboration to sustain growth and competitiveness.

Benjamin Pius, CEO and Convener of Broadcast Media Africa, welcomed the partnership, highlighting the importance of bringing industry players together to address shared challenges and explore new opportunities.

“Building a sustainable broadcasting industry in Africa requires strong partnerships and meaningful engagement between broadcasters, technology providers and other stakeholders. We are pleased to welcome SPUTNIK as a partner for this year’s convention. Our goal is to create an environment where industry leaders can share knowledge, build relationships and identify practical approaches to strengthening the future of broadcasting across the region,” said Pius.

The Broadcasters Convention – Southern Africa 2026 will continue BMA’s commitment to facilitating conversations that support industry development, encourage innovation and help African broadcasters respond to a rapidly changing media landscape.

Through its programme of discussions and networking opportunities, the convention will bring regional and international perspectives into focus, supporting a more connected and forward-looking broadcasting sector.
