Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) is calling on broadcasters, media organisations, producers, content creators, platforms and technology partners across Africa to submit their nominations for the 2nd edition of the Broadcast Media Africa Awards 2026.

With nominations closing SOON, industry professionals are encouraged to submit individuals, organisations, productions, initiatives, and innovations that have made a meaningful contribution to Africa’s evolving media and broadcasting landscape.

The Broadcast Media Africa Awards recognise excellence across the industry, celebrating achievements in leadership and organisational excellence, content and creativity, digital platforms and audiences, technology and transformation, and commercial and community impact.

The 2026 awards include categories such as Broadcast Media Executive of the Year, Media Organisation of the Year, Radio Station or Network of the Year, Best Local Content Production, Best News & Current Affairs Programme, Best Entertainment Programme, Best OTT or Streaming Platform, Best Podcast or Digital Audio Initiative, Content Creator of the Year, Audience Engagement Initiative of the Year, Broadcast Technology Innovation of the Year, Best Cloud or IP Broadcasting Initiative, Commercial Innovation of the Year and Best Community Media Initiative.

The awards provide an opportunity for the African media industry to bring greater visibility to work that is driving innovation, strengthening audience engagement, developing local content, advancing technology and creating sustainable value across the broadcasting ecosystem.

“Across Africa, broadcasters and media organisations are responding to a rapidly changing environment with new ideas, new technologies and new approaches to engaging audiences. The Broadcast Media Africa Awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate this work and the people behind it.”

Eligible work must have been delivered, launched or substantially advanced between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, in or demonstrably serving an African market. Organisations or individuals can submit nominations, while third-party nominations require the nominee’s written consent.

Entrants are required to select an appropriate category, present their case against the award criteria and provide supporting evidence and media links as part of the submission process.

The African broadcasting and media industry continues to evolve at pace. From innovative content and audience strategies to cloud and IP transformation, streaming, digital audio and new commercial models, the Broadcast Media Africa Awards seek to shine a light on the work helping shape the future of the industry.

The winners will be recognised at the Broadcast Media Africa Awards 2026 ceremony on 24 October 2026 in Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles.
