The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has officially announced its partnerships with Ecobank Zimbabwe and InnBucks to enhance its coverage of the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in providing Zimbabwean football fans with access to the monumental event, which will feature 48 nations competing in a record 104 matches across three host countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

ZBC announced the partnership in an official statement, emphasising that this initiative goes beyond mere commercial interests. It represents a commitment to fostering national unity, providing entertainment, and creating shared experiences for millions of viewers in Zimbabwe. The broadcaster’s acquisition of the rights ensures that supporters can enjoy World Cup action on terrestrial television, catering to a wide audience eager to support their teams.

While other local broadcasters such as Azam TV and SuperSport TV will provide satellite coverage during the tournament, ZBC’s terrestrial feed offers an accessible option for many. The tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026, with the opening match featuring hosts Mexico against South Africa at the legendary Estadio Azteca, a venue steeped in football history. The excitement will culminate in the final, scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

As the countdown to the World Cup begins, ZBC’s strategic partnerships demonstrate a proactive approach to bringing world-class football to Zimbabwe. This collaboration not only highlights the importance of sports in nation-building but also promises to unite football fans in a celebration of global camaraderie and competition.
