Paramount Pictures has joined forces with Nile Entertainment to establish a strategic distribution partnership in West Africa for the much-anticipated film “Children of Blood and Bone.” This adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel marks a significant step toward expanding the film’s accessibility in the region’s rapidly evolving cinema landscape.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film features a remarkable cast that includes Thuso Mbedu, Tosin Cole, Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, Lashana Lynch, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ayra Starr, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Pamilerin Ayodeji, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, and Regina King. This diverse ensemble showcases a blend of both global and African talent.

Under this new agreement, Nile Entertainment will manage the theatrical release of select Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures titles in West Africa, further solidifying its role as a pivotal distribution entity in the region. This partnership is anticipated to enhance access to cinema in key markets such as Nigeria and Ghana.

Moses Babatope, Group CEO of The Nile Group, remarked on the significance of the deal, stating, “UIP represents two of cinema’s most respected studios globally, and we are honoured to handle their titles in West Africa. Our commitment lies in serving our audiences, supporting our exhibition partners, and fostering the sustainable growth of the local theatrical market.”

Cameron Hogg also acknowledged the potential of the region, commenting, “West Africa is witnessing growth as a theatrical market. The expansion of audiences, advancements in cinema infrastructure, and exhibitors’ investments in enhanced experiences signal that the region is embarking on a new phase. We are excited to collaborate closely with Nile as we present a selection of Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures releases to audiences throughout Nigeria, Ghana, and the broader Anglophone West African market.”
