Announcement: BMA’s Cloud Broadcasting Africa Summit To Take Place In Lagos, Nigeria, On 24 – 25 March 2026

The digital revolution sweeping across the continent is fundamentally reshaping African broadcast media. The shift to a cloud-first operating environment is no longer optional; it is a critical opportunity for broadcasters to achieve unprecedented agility, cost-efficiency, and global scalability. To address this monumental transformation, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) will convene the Cloud Broadcasting Summit 2026, a pivotal event set to gather industry leaders, technologists, and policymakers to chart the digital transformation of the continent’s media sector.

The Summit will take place from Tuesday, 24 March, to Wednesday, 25 March 2026, in Central Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on the theme: Africa’s Broadcast Media In The Cloud-First Environment.

The two-day summit will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and masterclasses covering the essential roadmap for this transition. Discussions will focus heavily on the critical transition from outdated legacy infrastructure to nimble, cloud-native workflows, a move vital for future-proofing media operations. Participants will explore the synergy between this transformation and the impact of rapidly expanding 5G and low-latency networks across the continent, which are crucial for enabling high-quality cloud broadcasting and content contribution. A major emphasis will be placed on developing resilient, hybrid content distribution models that effectively combine satellite and fibre technologies to serve Africa’s diverse and geographically challenging markets.

Beyond the core infrastructure, the Summit will dive into advanced operational and commercial strategies. Sessions will detail how broadcasters can harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for sophisticated content curation, highly personalised audience engagement, and optimised ad placement. Ultimately, the focus will culminate in strategies for effectively monetising content within this new cloud-first, multi-platform environment, ensuring sustainable growth and return on investment for African media houses.

The Cloud Broadcasting Summit 2026 is designed to be the definitive platform for exchanging knowledge and forging the strategic partnerships necessary to modernise African broadcast systems and secure their global competitive edge.

Comment from Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), “The Cloud Broadcasting Summit 2026 is crucial because the future of African broadcast media is inextricably linked to the cloud. The days of relying solely on heavy, fixed infrastructure are behind us. A truly resilient and innovative media operation must be cloud-first, enabling rapid content deployment, instantaneous scalability, and unmatched cost-efficiency”.

Convening in Central Lagos—the commercial and technological heartbeat of West Africa—allows the summit to focus keenly on actionable strategies that will help African broadcasters leapfrog traditional technologies and build a future-ready media ecosystem capable of competing successfully on the world stage.
