Morocco: Fifth Edition Of Marrakech Short Film Festival Set To Highlight Emerging Voices In Cinema

A A

The Marrakech Short Film Festival (MSFF) will launch its fifth edition in the vibrant city of Marrakech, Morocco, from September 26 to October 1.

French-Moroccan actor Assaad Bouab will lead this year’s festival as the jury president. The esteemed jury also includes Jane Kim, the Producer of Industry Programming at the Toronto International Film Festival, alongside Rubén Corral, the Head of Programming at ZINEBI Bilbao.

Screenings will be held at iconic venues, including the historic El Badii Palace, The Folk, Cyber Park, the French Institute, and the Star Centre in Jemaa el-Fna.

In addition to film screenings, the festival will feature workshops, public discussions, and networking opportunities with industry professionals and experts.

Although it may not have the same global recognition as the short film section of the larger Marrakech International Film Festival, the MSFF has successfully carved out its own space. Now in its fifth year, it has become an essential platform for grassroots filmmakers, promoting Moroccan and North African talent while showcasing independent short films worldwide.
