The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has announced the extension of its submission period for the 46th edition, scheduled for November 12 to 21, 2025. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films via the festival’s official website, with the new deadline set for August 15.

Festival President, actor Hussein Fahmy, expressed enthusiasm over the open call, stating, “We are excited to launch submissions for the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival. We eagerly anticipate a wide array of innovative and diverse films that embody unique cinematic viewpoints and a variety of cultures. Cinema is a universal language, and our festival serves as an important platform for artistic exchange and creative conversation between filmmakers and audiences.”

Artistic Director Mohamed Tarek emphasised that preparations for this year’s edition are already in full swing and remarked, “We started early to ensure a standout festival experience. Each year, the submissions uncover remarkable talents, cinematic innovations, and promising new voices from around the globe.”

As a distinguished Category A festival, CIFF is the only event in the Arab world and Africa officially recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
