The Broadcast & Digital Media Convention – Africa 2024, hosted by the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and convened by Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), brought together leading voices from across Africa’s broadcast and digital media sectors to examine the future of content, technology, and regulation on the continent.

Now, the wealth of insights, expert contributions, and strategic conversations delivered at this landmark gathering—including keynote addresses, panel sessions, and technical presentations—is available for public access.

As a key platform for collaboration and innovation, the convention united broadcasters, content producers, policymakers, digital platforms, and technology providers. Together, they tackled major industry issues such as media convergence, digital transformation, content monetisation, and future-fit infrastructure and regulation.

From deep dives into IP-based broadcasting and digital-first content production, to discussions around regulatory reform, AI in media, and the role of public broadcasters in a digital age—the 2024 Convention provided practical, future-oriented guidance. These sessions—available in video, audio, and presentation formats—have now been compiled into a comprehensive digital resource hub to support learning, planning, and policy development across Africa’s media landscape.

Some of the items included in this package are:

  • Beyond OTT: How Trust Positions Public Service Broadcasters for the Future [Video]
  • Maximise Your Reach, Take Your Content Anywhere Cost-Effectively [Video]
  • Advantages When Changing From Legacy Broadcast Technology To IP Networks And Apps [Video]
  • Navigating Disruption: Empowering Africa’s Broadcasting Future [Presentation]
  • Maximise Your Reach, Take Your Content Anywhere Cost-Effectively [Presentation]
