Red Sea Labs, a flagship initiative of the Red Sea Film Foundation, has announced the launch of applications for the third edition of its SeriesLab programme in collaboration with Film Independent. Submissions are open until March 22, 2025, and TV writers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia, and Africa will be invited to participate in this prestigious development opportunity.

SeriesLab is a training programme designed to nurture the talents of 16 TV writers and producers through a three-part hybrid residency. Participants will gain valuable industry insights, attend masterclasses and participate in workshops led by esteemed TV writers, showrunners and industry experts. The initiative provides a supportive environment, equipping participants with the skills to successfully refine and pitch their television series pilots.

A key highlight of the programme is an exclusive two-week residency in Los Angeles, where participants will engage in immersive training sessions and attend the Film Independent Forum—a premier industry event designed to empower emerging creators with essential tools and networking opportunities.

The third edition of SeriesLab will run from March to December 2025, concluding alongside the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. Selected projects will be able to pitch at the Red Sea Souk, presenting their work to international buyers, studios, networks, and producers, enhancing their prospects for industry success.
