The highly anticipated Broadcast And Digital Media Convention – East Africa 2025 is set to take place on 27 – 28 May 2025 in Kampala, Uganda. This premier gathering of media professionals, broadcasters, policymakers, and digital content creators will be hosted by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) in collaboration with the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA).

As the region continues transforming into a fully digitised broadcasting landscape, this convention will provide an essential platform to assess industry progress, explore emerging trends, and examine regulatory frameworks shaping the future of broadcasting and digital media in East Africa. With Uganda’s UCC at the helm as the host institution, discussions will centre around policies and innovations that drive sustainable growth in the sector.

Speaking on the upcoming event, Mr Ibrahim Bbossa, Head of Public and International Relations at the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), expressed his enthusiasm, “Uganda is proud to host this important convention, which brings together key stakeholders in the broadcasting and digital media industry. The rapid advancement in digital technology presents both challenges and immense opportunities for East Africa. This convention will foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and strategies to enhance media infrastructure, content development, and regulatory frameworks that support industry growth.”

The Broadcast And Digital Media Convention – East Africa 2025 will feature keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to shape the future of digital broadcasting in the region.

With media convergence redefining how audiences consume content, industry leaders will deliberate on innovative ways to monetise digital platforms, expand broadband access, and ensure equitable access to digital broadcasting services across the region.
