With a rapidly evolving digital landscape, broadcast media practitioners and content publishers in Uganda and East Africa are actively seeking innovative ways to optimise and deliver their services in the digital media ecosystem.

Industry players across the value chain are striving to fully understand the complexities of the new digital media environment and how they can harness its potential to deliver greater value to consumers.

Under the theme “Driving Excellence In Digital Media Services Delivery In The Age of AI,” the International Broadcasting And Media Convention – East Africa, set to take place on 27 – 28 May 2025, in Kampala, Uganda, has partnered with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), to ensure a robust and impactful platform for industry stakeholders.

This industry-defining event will serve as a crucial meeting point for broadcasters, content platforms, and publishers from Uganda and the wider East African region.

Commenting on the significance of this event, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa and co-convenor, stated, “This event represents a crucial opportunity for industry professionals to come together and navigate the transformative changes in our sector. The theme, ‘Driving Excellence In Digital Media Services Delivery In The Age of AI,’ perfectly captures both the challenges and opportunities we face. With rapid advancements in technology, broadcasters and content creators must learn how to leverage these tools to enhance service delivery and engage with audiences meaningfully.

This convention not only provides a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration but also encourages the exploration of innovative practices that can redefine our impact in the digital media landscape. I encourage all stakeholders to participate and contribute to shaping the future of broadcasting in East Africa.”

As digital media continues to reshape the industry, the convention will play a pivotal role in helping stakeholders assess their evolving responsibilities and equipping them with the knowledge and tools to manage their transformation effectively.
