Nollywood director Kemi Adetiba has revealed the release date for the next instalment of the acclaimed King of Boys series, set to hit theatres on December 25, 2025.

Earlier in 2023, the director initiated pre-production for this highly anticipated project, which promises to bring new characters into the fold while maintaining some familiar faces. Titled The Beginning of the End, this feature film is expected to make a grand debut in cinemas.

The series follows the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a formidable businesswoman and philanthropist embroiled in a perilous struggle for power. The original film first premiered in 2018, captivating audiences with its intense storyline and exceptional performances. The sequel, King of Boys: The Return of the King, was available on Netflix in 2021.

The original film’s cast included the remarkable Sola Sobowale as Eniola Salami and talents like Nse Ikpe-Etim, Jide Kosoko, Adesua Etomi, and Richard Mofe-Damijo.

Kemi Adetiba’s journey began in the broadcasting realm as a radio presenter with Rhythm 93.7 FM, where she became a well-loved voice through her shows Soul’d Out and Sunday at the Seaside. During this period, she also shared her remixes anonymously on platforms like Spotify and SoundCloud under the name “Hule.”

Transitioning to television, Adetiba established herself as a prominent figure on Mnet, producing and hosting hit shows such as Studio 53 and Temptation Nigeria alongside Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa. She also garnered attention as a presenter on Soundcity TV and hosted the Maltina Dance All reality show for three seasons.

After a successful on-screen career, Adetiba shifted her focus to filmmaking, enrolling at the New York Film Academy to refine her skills. This transition allowed her work to gain recognition beyond Africa, with her short film, Across a Bloodied Ocean, showcased at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival and the National Black Arts Festival.

Her first feature film, The Wedding Party, premiered on September 8, 2016, as the opening film for the City-to-City Spotlight at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
