In today’s rapidly evolving media landscape, infotainment—a blend of information and entertainment—has emerged as a powerful tool for engaging audiences and driving growth. Organisers of the much anticipated Broadcast and Digital Media Convention, scheduled from 8 to 10 October 2024 at The Swakopmund Legacy Hotel, Namibia, have confirmed this will be an integral discussion at the summit.

As broadcasters and content creators seek to attract and retain viewers, the strategic deployment of infotainment has emerged as a game-changer.

Commenting on this, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa and event convener, said, “As the media landscape continues to evolve, the role of infotainment as a driver of engagement and audience growth will undoubtedly become more critical. Media companies can craft strategies that capture and sustain audience interest in an increasingly competitive environment by understanding and addressing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with infotainment.”

Hosted by the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation and co-located with the 31st AGM for the Southern African Broadcasting Association, the convention will serve as a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring new business opportunities. It will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions.
