MTN Cameroon Collaborates With Canal+ To Launch Streaming Platform

MTN subscribers in Cameroon can now enjoy live television channels and on-demand video content on their mobile devices and tablets following a new partnership between MTN Cameroon and Canal+, a leading French direct broadcast satellite service provider.

Through this exciting partnership, a wide range of Canal+ content, including films, series, documentaries, and live TV channels, will be available on the recently deployed MTN TV Cameroon platform, which is available for download on Google Playstore.

According to MTN Cameroon’s chief marketing officer, Riadh Mezi, the deal will permit the telco to offer to its six million smartphone users, out of a subscriber base of nearly 13 million, access to high-definition video entertainment content.

“We understand the importance of bringing quality content to our customers at an affordable price. We aim to make Canal + packages (Access, Évasion, Access+, Évasion+) accessible to all our subscribers, regardless of their package size,” Mezi said, reassuring that subscribers do not have to pay extra for data for unlimited streaming.

Justine Zeinse, marketing lead at Canal+ Cameroun, told a press conference in Douala that users will not need a decoder but only a mobile device and the app’s user-friendly interface.

“Everyone will be able to choose the bundle that suits them and enjoy their programmes daily or weekly,” Zeinse said.
