Jordan Media City Partners With TVU Networks To Deploy Advanced IP Distribution Infrastructure

Jordan Media City, the region’s premier broadcast and media hub, has partnered with TVU Networks and its regional partner MEBS to deploy advanced IP-based content distribution capabilities. The implementation of TVU MediaHub represents a strategic expansion of the facility’s infrastructure, delivering cloud-native connectivity and distribution alongside its existing broadcast operations.

For more than two decades, Jordan Media City has served broadcasters across five continents. As client demands evolved, the need for flexible, scalable IP-based distribution became increasingly apparent. Adding new distribution points required lengthy planning cycles. Scaling capacity meant fixed commitments that couldn’t adapt to changing requirements.

“We’ve watched the industry change dramatically over the past five years,” said Mohammed Tarawneh, Teleport Technical Support (DVB) at Jordan Media City. “Our clients need the ability to add distribution points quickly, scale for major events, and expand reach without rigid long-term commitments. We needed an IP-based solution that could deliver that agility while maintaining broadcast reliability.”

TVU MediaHub: Built for Broadcast-Grade Reliability

TVU Networks designed TVU MediaHub specifically to provide broadcasters with flexible, cloud-native IP distribution capabilities. The solution deployed at Jordan Media City demonstrates this approach through comprehensive redundancy built into every layer.

Here’s how the system works: Jordan Media City distributes five channels to seven different receiving sites. Each channel has both a Main source and a Backup source running simultaneously. Every receiving site gets both streams for each channel. That’s 10 streams per site, or 70 streams flowing across the entire network simultaneously.

This dual-stream design is what makes the system reliable. If the primary stream hits a problem, the backup takes over automatically. No one needs to flip a switch or make a call. The platform handles it, keeps the content flowing, and maintains broadcast quality around the clock.

Furthermore, with MediaHub deployed between the backup sources and backup destinations, the system enables cloud processing across two distinct regions. This architecture ensures that any impact on the primary cloud platform does not affect the backup system.

The system runs 24/7 without interruption. TVU MediaHub allows Jordan Media City to add channels or destinations on demand, with flexible capacity that adapts to client needs. The current setup handles five channels and seven destinations, but the architecture scales up as requirements grow—no major infrastructure overhaul required.

“Our partnership with Jordan Media City reflects our focus on building long-term collaborations across the MENA region,” said Emad Qawasmi, Managing Director – MENA Region at TVU Networks. “We’re working closely with broadcasters to support their growth and help them adapt to changing market needs practically and sustainably.”

“IP-based distribution represents one of the most significant advances in broadcast infrastructure,” said Ahmed Alanis, Head of Solutions MEA at TVU Networks. “Jordan Media City’s deployment showcases what happens when you combine broadcast-grade reliability with cloud-native agility. They’re demonstrating that modern IP solutions can deliver the performance standards broadcasters demand while providing unprecedented operational flexibility.”

TVU Networks has been at the forefront of IP-based broadcast workflows for over two decades, with solutions powering mission-critical operations for major broadcasters worldwide.
