The upcoming Broadcast And Digital Media Convention—West Africa, a one-of-a-kind event, will take place from August 14 to 15, 2024, at the prestigious Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria.

This convention will be held in conjunction with the 1st Annual National Conference of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters.

The transition from analogue to digital broadcasting is not just a technological upgrade. It’s a paradigm shift that revolutionises how content is produced, delivered, and consumed. This shift brings a host of benefits, including [superior picture and sound quality, efficient use of spectrum, and the capability to deliver interactive services]. As broadcasters worldwide embrace digital technologies, the universal delivery of these services becomes crucial to ensure equitable access to information and entertainment.

Commenting on this, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of BMA and co-convener of the event (with Dr Yemisi Bamgbose – Executive Secretary of BON), said, “As we enter the new era of broadcasting, the industry event in Abuja – Nigeria, serves as a crucial platform for shaping the future. We can unlock unprecedented opportunities for growth, innovation, and social impact. This meeting will bring together industry experts and thought leaders and catalyse the transformation defining the next media chapter in Nigeria and the world.”

The event will host an array of distinguished speakers, including industry leaders, technology experts, policymakers, and academics. It promises a rich exchange of ideas to inspire and inform attendees about the future trajectory of broadcasting and digital media.
