Canal Plus, a leading pay TV provider in France, has extended its rights to broadcast the UEFA Champions League in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa until 2027.

With this deal, Canal+ will continue broadcasting the first-pick Wednesday evening matches and highlights from the Champions League for the next three seasons.

Canal+ is the only provider in French-speaking Africa that offers more than 1,000 football matches annually. The company’s football programming portfolio includes renowned leagues such as the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Saudi Pro League.

Jacques du Puy, the President of Canal+ International, said the company is delighted to continue providing its African subscribers exclusive access to one of Europe’s most prestigious football competitions. He added that Canal+’s approach in Africa is to provide its users with the best international football.

Canal+ has a presence in over 50 countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia. The company has been operating in Africa for over three decades and currently directly serves 8 million African consumers.

Canal+ also offers exclusive coverage of major international sports competitions such as the NBA, Formula 1, MotoGP, and UFC.
