In Nigeria, Nile Entertainment’s CEO, Moses Babatope, recently unveiled the company’s first film under its distribution arm. The upcoming movie, “The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3,” marks a significant milestone for the company.

In an Instagram post, Babatope expressed his excitement about this project, which also signifies the return of director Omoni Oboli to the big screen after five years. The teaser for this anticipated film was revealed on July 10, 2024.

The “Wives on Strike” franchise, known for its satirical take on societal issues, initially debuted in 2016 and was followed by a sequel, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution,” in 2018.

The films centre around a group of women who withhold intimacy from their husbands to raise awareness about gender-based violence and forced marriages in their community.

Babatope emphasized Nile Entertainment’s commitment to delivering engaging and high-quality content, stating that the new film aligns with its vision to share stories that deeply resonate with audiences.

The cast of “Wives on Strike 3” includes Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Hilda Dokubo, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (KieKie), and May Yul-Edochie.

Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development as Nile Entertainment continues to elevate Nigerian cinema on a global scale.
