Seacom Celebrates 15 Years Of Empowering Africa With High-Speed Connectivity

Seacom, a leading high-speed Internet access and IT services provider, celebrated its 15th corporate anniversary. The company’s CEO, Alpheus Mangale, expressed gratitude to the team and stakeholders for their commitment and support. Seacom’s 17,000-kilometer-long cable connects Africa to Europe and Asia, offering high-speed Internet access to countries such as South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Djibouti, France, and India.

Over the years, Seacom has increased its cable capacity to 3Tbps, expanded its services, and introduced innovative products such as direct-to-business fibre services in South Africa. In addition to enterprise-grade connectivity, Seacom now provides digital IT services, cloud, and cyber security solutions to African consumers and businesses.

Mangale highlighted Seacom’s strategic, integrated, and cost-effective approach to providing connectivity services and its commitment to incorporating next-generation connectivity technologies into its business. Seacom also launched an all-new low-earth orbit satellite service that aligns with its future-focused strategy.

Seacom’s key initiative, expanding high-capacity subsea and terrestrial fibre optic cables, has significantly contributed to this transformation. It has enabled more Internet users to connect to digital platforms and services using high-speed Internet access and smartphones, thereby bridging the digital divide in the continent.

Mangale expressed pride in Seacom’s role in creating new opportunities for Africa’s citizenry and emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering Africa for a digitally connected future. The article concluded with optimism and anticipation for the next 15 years of growth and transformation for Seacom, underlining the company’s confidence in its future success.
