Spotify has announced that Egyptian radio network NogoumFM will now host its content on Megaphone, Spotify’s premier enterprise podcast platform. With this partnership, NogoumFM introduces more than 70 shows to Spotify’s podcast library.

Established in 2003, NogoumFM swiftly emerged as Egypt’s major Arabic radio station, renowned for its contemporary approach and dynamic content. This alliance with Spotify signifies a significant leap forward, bringing a wealth of diverse and engaging content to a global audience exceeding 615 m listeners. Now, listeners worldwide can enjoy NogoumFM’s popular social chat shows, including Etafa’ana, El Tawlifa, and Kefaya Keda, covering a diverse range of trending topics, expert insights, and personal narratives, all accessible on any Spotify-integrated device.

Megaphone’s innovative “Broadcast to Podcast” tool is at the heart of this collaboration, seamlessly converting radio content into on-demand podcasts. This cutting-edge technology allows broadcasters to extend their reach and elevate the listener experience, granting dedicated fans access to their preferred content like never before.

Speaking about the collaboration, Rhea Chedid, Editorial Lead for the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia at Spotify, shared her excitement: “With podcast streaming in Egypt skyrocketing by over 100% year-on-year, we are thrilled with the growing interest in this medium, particularly among 18-24-year-olds on Spotify. Our introduction of the broadcast-to-podcast tool aims to bridge the gap between broadcast publishers and Gen-Z audiences, meeting their preference for digital content consumption. We are excited to debut this in the region with the household name broadcaster NogoumFM as our first partner.”

Hala Hegazi, Managing Director and Group COO at Nile Radio Productions added: “At NogoumFM, we pride ourselves on producing content that resonates with the diverse tapestry of Egyptian culture. Through our partnership with Spotify, we are thrilled to enhance accessibility to our rich content, making it easier to access our show anytime and anywhere.”

In addition to podcast offerings, Spotify will sponsor NogoumFM’s flagship show, Agmad 7. Every Thursday, Agmad 7 will feature a curated selection of the most popular tracks from Spotify’s weekly chart, Top Songs Egypt, enhancing the listener experience and bridging the gap between radio and digital platforms.
