OTT Streaming: BMA To Survey Industry Players On State Of Play In Africa

January 17, 2024

A A

Leading industry analysts predict that Sub-Saharan Africa will be the fastest-growing OTT content streaming market in the next five years, with online video revenue tripling.

To capitalise on the expected growth of OTT streaming and on-demand content services, Africa’s industry players must invest in infrastructure, service delivery, and monetisation to ensure reliable and commercially successful programming delivery.

In light of this, Broadcast Media Africa believes that the next few years will be intense activity for OTT Streaming and On-demand content across Africa.

As part of our “OTT Streaming and Content On Demand In Africa Industry Programme“, Broadcast Media Africa is conducting a Survey within the industry in Africa to seek, track and record opinions of executives and practitioners on the factors and issues that they believe would shape the success – or otherwise – of the OTT Content Streaming phenomenon.

This industry survey aims to raise awareness of general industry trends among African actors (broadcasters, producers, telecoms, platform owners, and regulators). We also anticipate that the State-of-Play survey results will provide specific knowledge insights to assist in dealing with the fast-changing broadcast media landscape.

This industry survey and the ensuing briefing document will seek to provide a clear market view of OTT Streaming and Content On Demand In Africa.
