Primedia Broadcasting Splits CEO Role Between Content and Commercial Leadership

October 7, 2026

A A

Primedia Broadcasting has restructured its executive leadership, appointing Kelvin Storie and Mzo Jojwana as co-chief executives, with each taking responsibility for a distinct area of the business.

Jojwana will oversee content, audiences and the group’s broadcast brands, while Storie will lead commercial growth across digital, video and experiential. Their portfolios cover Primedia’s major radio and news properties, including 702, 947, CapeTalk, Kfm 94.5 and Eyewitness News.

The appointments are internal. Jojwana brings almost two decades of radio experience to the role, having previously served as Station Manager at Talk Radio 702 and, most recently, Chief Content Officer at Primedia Broadcasting.

Storie has more than 20 years of experience across media and marketing. He joined Primedia as Chief Intelligence Officer in November 2022 before progressing to Chief Commercial Officer.

Group Chief Executive Jonathan Procter described the move as a formalisation of complementary leadership responsibilities, rather than the replacement of a single CEO structure.

The change provides a clear separation between two core areas of the broadcasting business: content and audience engagement on one side, and commercial growth on the other.

For Primedia, the structure places direct executive ownership on both the products audiences consume and the increasingly diverse commercial opportunities around them. Storie’s remit extends beyond traditional broadcast revenue into digital, video and experiential opportunities, while Jojwana retains responsibility for the content and brands at the centre of the group’s audience proposition.

The appointments also signal that Primedia continues to view its radio operations as a central part of its future strategy. Jojwana’s positioning of radio as one of South Africa’s resilient media platforms suggests that the company is not treating linear radio simply as a legacy business while building its digital operations.

Instead, the new structure points towards a model in which traditional broadcasting and emerging digital opportunities are developed alongside one another, with separate leadership focused on strengthening the audience proposition and expanding the commercial value around it.
