South Africa’s state-owned signal distributor, Sentech, is showcasing its digital infrastructure and media services at GovTech 2026, taking place at the Durban ICC from 21 to 23 September under the theme of digital sovereignty.
The company is highlighting its broadband infrastructure, data centres and tower network, alongside the Sentech Academy and FreeVision Play media platform.
The exhibition follows Sentech’s full-year results released on 11 September. Revenue increased 1.4% to US$100.1 million, while the company reduced its net loss to US$3.7 million from US$15.1 million in the previous year. EBITDA stood at US$21.7 million, with Sentech also receiving a clean audit outcome.
No new transmission contract or network deployment has been announced in connection with the GovTech appearance. The focus is instead on positioning Sentech as a broader digital infrastructure provider to government, extending its role beyond traditional broadcast signal distribution into connectivity, data infrastructure and digital media services.
