The Kalasha International Film and TV Awards have unveiled this year’s nominees after thorough evaluation by a panel of judges. To celebrate the remarkable talent in Kenyan cinema, Anga Cinemas, located at Panari and Diamond Plaza, will host screenings of several nominated films from Monday, April 6, through April 9.

This exciting showcase, organised in collaboration with the Kenya Film Commission and the Kalasha Awards, offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience a diverse range of films before the award ceremony. The lineup includes a variety of productions—from feature films and documentaries to student projects and indigenous storytelling.

Among the standout films featured in this year’s showcase are “Memory of Princess Mumbi,” “Sketchy Africans,” “Safari,” “Nawi,” “Makosa Ni Yangu,” and “Sarah.” In addition to these feature films, the screening will also highlight impactful documentaries such as “Letters to Dad” and “The People Shall,” which delve into important social themes and narratives.

The program also includes a selection of engaging student and short films, including “Dinner for Three,” “Ifikie Governor,” and “Ajeni,” that represent the fresh perspectives and creativity of emerging filmmakers. These contributions are essential for nurturing the next generation of talent in the industry.

The inclusion of indigenous films, such as “Ngone Mwaitu” and “Matatu Master,” showcases the growing emphasis on local stories that resonate with Kenyan audiences. This trend reflects an increasing awareness and appreciation for authentic representations of Kenyan culture and experiences in cinema.

With the screening phase running until April 9, this event serves as a vibrant platform to promote the richness of Kenyan film and celebrate the creativity of its storytellers. Don’t miss this chance to witness the evolution of Kenyan cinema and support the talented filmmakers behind these remarkable productions.
