The 7th edition of the Radio Broadcasting Convention – Africa 2026 is set to bring together radio industry leaders, broadcasters, regulators, and technology providers from across the continent on 01 – 02 July 2026 at The Venue – Green Park in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Convened by Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), the convention has become one of Africa’s leading platforms for dialogue and collaboration around the future of radio broadcasting. The annual gathering provides stakeholders with an opportunity to explore emerging technologies, evolving audience behaviours, and new business models shaping the radio and audio ecosystem across the continent.

As radio continues to adapt to the digital era, the convention will examine key industry developments, including content innovation, audience engagement strategies, digital distribution platforms, data-driven programming, and the integration of radio with online and mobile platforms. The event will also explore how broadcasters can strengthen radio’s relevance and sustainability within Africa’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

According to Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, the convention plays a vital role in enabling industry collaboration and knowledge exchange. “Radio remains one of Africa’s most influential and accessible media platforms. The Radio Broadcasting Convention – Africa provides a critical forum for industry stakeholders to share insights, examine new opportunities, and collaborate on strategies that will help radio continue to thrive in a digitally connected world,” said Pius.

The two-day convention will feature keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, and high-level industry conversations designed to encourage innovation and partnership among radio broadcasters, technology providers, regulators, and media professionals.

Bringing together participants from across Africa and beyond, the Radio Broadcasting Convention – Africa 2026 is expected to provide valuable insight into the future direction of the continent’s radio broadcasting sector.
